Terms of Service

Terms.

The legal framework. Plain language where possible, lawyer-reviewed where marked. TODO(legal)

1. Who you're agreeing with

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and The Editorial Edit ("tEE," "we," "us"). CRUMB ("the app") is a macOS application distributed by The Editorial Edit at getcrumb.app. By installing or using CRUMB, you agree to these Terms.

2. License grant

When you purchase a CRUMB license (either one-time or monthly subscription), we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use CRUMB on up to 3 macOS devices that you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense CRUMB to others
  • Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the app except where permitted by applicable law
  • Use a single license on more than 3 activated devices simultaneously

3. Subscription terms

Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance each month. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the current billing period. We don't prorate partial months.

4. Refund policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all purchases (one-time and monthly). If CRUMB doesn't work for you within 14 days of purchase, email info@theeditorialedit.com and we'll refund you in full. No form, no questionnaire, no explanation required.

After 14 days:

  • One-time purchases: Non-refundable except at our discretion for documented technical issues that we cannot resolve.
  • Monthly subscriptions: Cancelled subscriptions are not refunded for the current billing period. Future charges stop immediately upon cancellation.

5. Free tier

CRUMB ships with a free version: one project in Creative mode, full feature access, forever. Nerd mode and additional projects unlock when you buy a one-time license or start a subscription. No credit card is required to install or use the free version. The transition from free to paid is always opt-in.

6. What CRUMB is and isn't

CRUMB is a macOS front-end and session organizer for Claude Code, which is a product of Anthropic. CRUMB does not include Claude Code or access to Anthropic's API. You are responsible for your own Claude subscription and for complying with Anthropic's terms of service.

CRUMB is not responsible for the outputs, errors, or behaviors of Claude Code or Anthropic's API. We organize your sessions. We don't control what Claude does in them.

7. Intellectual property

CRUMB and all associated intellectual property (software, design, trademarks, copy) remain the property of The Editorial Edit. The code you build using CRUMB belongs to you. The software itself does not.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Editorial Edit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of CRUMB, including but not limited to: lost data, lost sessions, lost revenue, or business interruption.

Our maximum liability to you for any claim relating to CRUMB shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Warranty disclaimer

CRUMB is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet every specific use case. We will fix bugs. We won't promise perfection.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email (if you have an account) or via a notice in the app. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
